SallyATHERTONSally Atherton MBE, devoted and much-loved mother to Martin and Mandy, sadly passed away on Tuesday 28th March 2023. She was just over a month short of her 90th birthday. Sally was a Liverpool City Councillor for Church Ward, Wavertree, during the challenges of the 1980s, and worked tirelessly over many years for the welfare of mariners with King George's Fund for Sailors (now The Seafarers' Charity), for which she was appointed MBE by the late Queen. Hers was a life well lived with an impact far greater than she ever knew. In later years, she spent most of her time with Mandy in Devon. Her funeral service will take place in St Mary the Virgin Church, Bratton Clovelly, Devon, EX20 4JN at 1200 on Friday 28th April 2023, followed by cremation at Glynn Valley, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL30 4AP.
