Dear Family
We have never met I would like to offer my sincere sympathies to you all. I met Rob when he first joined the UKHMA and since then we have become friends. I am so shocked and saddened for your loss. Rob was a great colleague and very good company as well. I had the pleasure of meeting him and working with him in Padstow on several occasions as well as at UKHMA events. I know he was a committed harbourmaster with a love of his job but it was also clear he was a great family man and would tell me of his plans for spending time on the water with you. Your loss is the greatest but Padstow harbour and the harbourmaster community have also lost an important person in our world.
With kind regards and thoughts

Rob was a great friend and sailing companion for many years as was his father Mike
We had a lot of fun together over the years in the Iles of Scilly when he was the skipper of the Gry Maritha
Has left us far too early

All my family were devastated by the sudden death of Robbie, he was a good friend of ours, especially my son Nicholas, we are all thinking of his family and Joy and Mike.

As a valued Council member of the UK Harbour Masters' Association, and as a long-standing Full Member of the UKHMA, Rob will be sorely missed. His forthright contributions to our meetings always offered a unique and valued viewpoint - both from a small port perspective and from that of a practical mariner's eye.

His passing has elicited a widespread wave of shock and sorrow from within the membership and we use this opportunity to pass on, collectively to Rob's family, the condolences and messages of support from friends and colleagues located throughout the British Isles.
