DarrenATKINSONWe have the sad duty to announce that Darren Atkinson has died following a short illness at the age of 51. Darren died at home with his friends and family nearby. He is survived by his Mother, Shirley North, Step Father John North and his partner Elizabeth McLean. Darren was well known as a director and proud co-owner of Witham Timber, a company he helped found and run for almost 14 years. He had lived most of his life in Boston, with brief spells in other towns when his career required it. A lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC, Darren enjoyed trips to Anfield to watch as many European games as possible. He was an avid follower of Formula 1 motor racing, particularly "proper" racing from the 1980's. Darren should be remembered as a generous, kind and fun person to spend time with. Anyone who had ever been lucky enough to have been a guest in the "Jack the Ripper" would attest to Darren's hospitality. Whilst Darren could host a party in the Ripper until the early hours of the following morning, he was also just as easy sat in front of his fire relaxing with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all those who had the good fortune to spend time in his company.
