RaymondAYREIt is with great sadness that we announce that Ray, aged 94 years passed away peacefully at Scunthorpe General Hospital surrounded by his family on 16th of August 2022. Reunited with his beloved wife Lily, loving and adored dad of Mandy, dear father-in-law and friend to Neil, wonderful and cherished grandad to Emma, Sophie and Elliott, Ray was a good friend to all and will be missed by many, including his four-legged friends. A service will take place at Woodlands Crematorium on Wednesday 31st of August at 10:40am. I've known Ray since August 1963 when I started as an apprentice at the Ore Mining Branch. In fact my first day at work was soent with Ray at Roxby pit in the electricians cabin. I popped in to see him at home occasionally in the last few years and we always went back to our days at OMB. So I now seem to be the last one standing from a superb band of mates in the electrical dept, sorry to have lost someone who knew what a band of brothers we had in the dept in those years, RIP mate...
