For years Paul and I, though cousins, knew each other only through mail back and forth across the Atlantic. We finally met about seven years ago when business brought me to London, and Paul agreed to show me around Leicester (along with our mutual cousins Glennys Bradshaw and Sandra Burrows). He was the host, friend, and relative you wished you lived closer to. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and will forever remember his kindness. Rest in Peace, Paul.

Val and I were more than saddened to learn of Paul’s death. He was a trusted friend and colleague over many, many years - generous, stalwart and kind, and an extremely valuable member of the Geology Department at the University. He will not be forgotten, and we send our condolences to his family.

I am very sorry indeed to learn of Paul's passing. He came out of the Bill Teasdale (his predecessor) "School of Hard Knocks" of Chief Tech's and was all the better for that. At the end of the day I found him always helpful and generous. A valued member of staff on the Department. My condolences to his family and friends. - David Siveter

Very sorry to hear this news. I always found Paul to be great help in the Department of Geology, and a good source of information. His dry wit will certainly be missed! Andy.

Farewell good and trusted friend Paul. You will be deeply missed. We had some great holidays togther in 70s and we thank you for being our best man in 1977. Remembering your mum and dad too - the family now all reunited. Sending love to all your family in Leicester and Australia.
Deepest love, Wally and Les.
