EricBACONEric died after a short illness at The Hollies, Gravesend, where he was very well looked after for his last few months.
His funeral will take place at Thames View Crematorium, Shorne, on 11th December 2023 at 3p.m. No flowers. Donations to the Dementia Research or Brain Research Charity of your choice.
Eric survived his much loved wife Dorothy and was himself much loved by his extensive family in England and the USA.
He must when he died have been one of the last, if not the last, RNVR officers to be present on D-day on 6th June 1944, on Juno Beach.
He was a kind man who among other things cared deeply about equal opportunities for women, and opposed all forms of discrimination.
