Condolences to all of Cliffs family and close friends. I was one of his apprentices in the early 90s at Fordies. Things were different back then for apprentices on site and although he was hard with us he was also very fair. Looking back the one thing I didn't realise at the time is how much of an influence Cliff had on me in my later working and social life. He helped me become a good sparky but most of all showed me how to respect and treat others.

Life takes people in different directions but it was always nice when we bumped into each other at the match and had a beer and a chat.

I'm really sorry that I couldn't be there to say goodbye and have a pint with your family and friends but you were in my thoughts x
