Eileen MayBARBERTarry Mrs Eileen May Barber, her life and empathy as teacher for 25 years at the Abbey School, Babbacombe, and private teaching of music, maths and English, as wife of late Rev. Derrick Barber, founding minister of Central Church Torquay, as organist at Furrough Cross Church for 25 years, and as much loved mother of her two daughters Val and Sue. Born 20th May 1923, Eileen began full time teaching during World War II in Hastings, Sussex and continued teaching in Torquay until her 90th birthday 20th May 2013. She departed days before her 98th birthday 20th May 2021. Eileen and Derrick lived in Torquay more than 50 years. Eileen will be remembered with empathy by many people in Torquay and surrounding district. We would like to give you the opportunity to join and share with us to celebrate Eileen's life.
