FrankBARNESFrank Barnes passed peacefully on the 18th January 2024 aged 91. Dearly beloved husband of the late Christine (d. 2018). Much loved father of Lucy and Rachel, and grandad to Natalie, Kirsty and Victoria. Frank is remembered for his quick humour and love of Coventry City. He will be missed by his family and many friends. We should like to acknowledge the hard work and compassion of the staff at the Knowles Care Home in Tilehill, where Frank was briefly a resident. Funeral Service will be held at Canley Crematorium, Charter Chapel on Wednesday 14th February at 3:15pm. Donations if desired may be made on the day to Myeloma UK, alternatively send cheque only c/o Henry Ison 76-78, Binley Road, Coventry, CV3 1FQ

My strongest memory of Frank was in the summer holidays of 1947 when we spent most of our time on the Sphinx sports ground playing cricket or taking part in Olympic events. Most of us were pupils at KHVIII or Bablake so there was a lot of friendly rivalry. Even on rainy days when we went to the changing rooms to play Monopoly the competition was still fierce but we had lots of fun. Thank you Frank for being part of those halcyon days the memory of which are still clear in my mind. Colin Watkins
