LeslieBATTLEMr Leslie Battle, of Accrington, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a short illness, on Tuesday, June 15, aged 71. Les was a devoted, supportive and beloved husband to Jean, a wonderful father to Roger, Nicola and Joanne, father-in-law to Nick and Mark, loving grandfather to Zach, Freddie, Jasmine and Alice, brother-in-law to David and wife Anne, and uncle to David and Louise. Les had many treasured friends who will miss him dearly. Les lived in Accrington most of his life, except when he left to study at university in York. He went on to teach at Everton High School in Blackburn, then worked at Relay Vision, and then as a lecturer at Burnley College. He finally went on to lecture in Electronics at Accrington and Rossendale college before retiring. Les enjoyed walking and hiking, he loved to read, he loved to travel the world, and in his retirement enjoyed caravanning. He loved planning adventures away with Jean and spending time with his family and friends. Les was a much loved, kind and gentle man. He truly will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Leslie Battle to Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team. Funeral director: Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
