David WilsonBAVAIRDDavid W Bavaird JP passed away on Tuesday 15th August 2023 at the age of 61 years. Adored husband of Anne, cherished son of Edith and the late Ronnie and a much loved brother to Doreen, brother-in-law and uncle. David was a true gentleman who dedicated his life to supporting a number of charities and organisations on Tyneside and the wider North East region to help improve the lives of those in need. He was passionate about providing educational opportunities for young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. He had been a leading figure in the North Tyneside business community as well as promoting the cultural heritage of the North East. David was immensely privileged and proud to be appointed High Sheriff of Tyne and Wear in April 2022 and carried out his duties with his usual boundless enthusiasm. A rare man indeed that is sadly missed by his wife Anne, his family and all that knew him. David's funeral will be held at 12.30pm 29th August 2023 at The Church of the Holy Saviour, Broadway Tynemouth NE30 2LS (no black ties preferred) followed by an opportunity to remember David at the Old Low Lights Heritage Centre, Clifford's Fort Moat, North Shields NE30 1JE E Turnbull & Son Albion Road North Shields NE29 0HE 0191 257 1201

David was a really lovely guy.
I knew him from Bannerman High School
When we left school David Bavaird and Kenneth Bhoys and Douglas Cameron and myself David Brockett formed a friendly card school and every week we went to one of our houses to play cards and have the odd beer or 10 but importantly non stop laughs. He loved winding us up with his wicked sense of humour and his highly addictive laugh. I have not seen David for a long time but I have wonderful memories of the gem of a guy. RIP David

So sad to just hear the news about David. He was such a great supporter of all things North Shields related in his time with the Chamber. Such a postive character and always so willing to help others. Condolences to Anne, and David's family.

A lovely man and a very fine magistrate colleague. He helped a lot of people in many ways, including my cousin, who he supported getting her teacher training placement at Churchill. He will be sorely missed. My thoughts and love to his family. Larraine Regan

I was so sorry to hear about David’s passing. He was a unique character and I always enjoyed our chats and working with him when I was at NT Council and also helping out at Norham High. He left an impression on many. Sending love to his wife Anne who he would talk often about to me (proudly) xx
