David has been a true friend since we moved to Plymouth. As a YMCA trustee he played a major part in the recovery from near terminal conditions, and always asked the most pertinent questions at Finance and Board meetings. He will be very sadly missed. John Coates (former Chairman) YMCA Plymouth

David was a good friend, a supportive Probus member and a fine Bursar at Plymouth College.
I am proud to have known him in all these capacities. But especially as a friend.

David was a commited and dedicated member of the YMCA Plymouth Board of Trustees. It was a pleasure and honour to have his support and due diligence (along with some great humour on troublesome days), he will forever be remembered by his YMCA family.

It was my privilege and honour to serve with you in Minden, Colchester and The Falkland Islands. You were well respected by all ranks and both firm and fair. Your wit and humour shone through and I always remember you putting putting the Brigade Commanders photo in the rear bins of the Company's 432's when he inspected us on handover. The look on his face was priceless.
You have gone far too early and will be missed, but I am grateful I had the pleasure of knowing you and serving with you.
Rest In Peace.

Was my Company Commander during our tour in the Falklands. He was well respected and liked by all the soldiers he got the best out of us all and moulded a fantastic Company.
I will always be in his debt for the faith he showed in me and giving me the opportunity.
RIP Sir 444s

Was my Company Commander during our tour in the Falklands. He was well respected and liked by all the soldiers he had the canny knack of getting the best out of us all and moulding a fantastic Company.
I will always be in his debt for the faith he showed in me and giving me the opportunity. I was a pain in the back side as a young soldier but he never gave up on me quite the opposite.
RIP Sir
