MargaretBEATTIEAfter a short illness but peacefully at Hairmyres Hospital on 19th March 2020, Margaret, beloved wife of the late Hugh (Harry), loving mother of Brian, Harry and of the late Carol and Kenneth, mother in law of Heather, Carol and Edmond, and an adored gran to her 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral Service to be held on Monday 30 March at Philipshill Cemetery at 11am. Thanks to all staff at Lindsayfield Lodge Care Home and Ward 15 at Hairmyres Hospital.

I have known you for nigh on 45 years.
I have been in you
Around you
All over you.
In all seasons a safe harbour
When I needed to stay
To be with the love of my life
For most of my life.
I have heard sweet music
Seen dramas
Some that were awe inspiring
Some final.
Your walls windows and doors are
An entry and exit
To love and lifes challenges.
To be without you will be strange
No harbour to see my manifestations
So somewhere else I will have to arrange
Within a few days
To meet my hearts friend and soul mate.



This poem is written about Margaret's beautiful home that she and Harry brought up their family ' 15 DAWSON AVENUE. Commonly referred to in our family as 15D. My tribute to it b4 Margaret had to leave for Germiston and assisted living in Jan 2017.
