Thomas Edward Ceng. Fimare.BEATTIE ((Ted))(Ted) aged 89, passed away on the 11th October 2021 in Stafford UK after one final adventure. Born in Liverpool, Ted was the youngest of 4 children (Hilary, Sheila and Bertha). In 1948 aged 16, Ted joined the Merchant Navy as an apprentice engineer, working his way up to Chief Engineer just 12 years later. Ted then spent the next 30 years working in the Far East notably including, advancing to Manufacturing Director of Sime Darby Group, becoming Vice President of Engineering for the Sinar Mas Group, and undertaking worldwide consultation for the World Bank. Ted was a devoted family man who is survived by his wife Joan, daughter Andrea and granddaughter Rachael; he will be truly missed by his family and all those who knew him. A small service for family and friends will take place on Wednesday 3rd November at 12.30pm at St Thomas' Church, Walton on the Hill, Stafford followed by a service of Committal at Stafford Crematorium.
