My Uncle Norm was one of a family of eight, my mum’s younger brother. As such, he was part of my growing up and I always enjoyed visiting him, Aunty Jean and Bill and Tom at their home in Belle Vale and whole family gatherings at our grandparents in Sandyville Road.
During his latter years, he’d tell us family stories and he and our Aunty Pat would fill in bits of family history for us. Always a great storyteller, he was fascinating to listen to, with tales of his many experiences and his enjoyment of the activities Tom arranged for him.
We’ll miss his enthusiasm, his humour and his positive outlook. After all, what could be more positive than buying a new car in your 100th year !
I won’t forget you, Uncle Norm and all the family members who are no longer with us . Pat x
