David was a wonderful Morice Town primary school teacher and teaching the recorder was his passion Never forgotten and always mentioned when taking to primary school friends Very sad he left but to become head teacher at Manadon Primary he also loved

I cannot express the fantastic man, and Head teacher Mr Bennett was. My final year at Manadon was also Mr Bennetts final year and my memories of him splashing around in Belgium. His genuine warm caring nature and the fact when we chatted periodically he still remembered me, my mum and Dad and Brother such was his incredible ability as a teacher to actually know his pupils. A man also of deep faith who was an inspiration years later for my own calling. May you Rest in Peace in the Fathers House playing that Trumpet loudly Mr Bennett

Dave was the best Headteacher for our 2 sons. Dave instilled a love of rugby and the trumpet, an instrument they both still play. He worked with Keith at
Marjons. He was a lovely man, respected and loved by both colleagues and students. Such a sad day but what an amazing legacy and such special memories Dave has left behind. Sincere condolences to the family x

So sorry to hear this news. I was a Manadon pupil in the 1980’s and have such fond memories of Mr Bennett. My time at the school changed my life and I will be forever grateful for such a wonderful head teacher. Rest in peace Mr Bennett. My thoughts are with all of your family and friends.

Words are inadequate. The most marvellous headteacher and servant to the community but also the most lovely lovely man. It was an honour to know you David. RIP

I am now a similar age to the age Mr Bennett (David) would have been when I left Manadon Vale. All these years later I still recall him with much fondness and respect, and how deeply sad I am to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family and friends at this sad time. George Persson
