Patricia WendyBENZwas 82 and died in hospital in Scotland on 13 May 2026.
Patricia was the beloved mother of brothers Sean and Jan, the mother in law of wives Al and Mary and Granny to Patrick and Maria.
She lived in a loving relationship with Neil, her partner and soulmate of 42 years in Merseyside and Scotland.
Patricia was a devoted and inspirational Special Needs Advisory Teacher in Sefton, respected by her colleagues and highly regarded by parents and former pupils.
She was a keen outdoors person who completed many of the long distance walks in Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland. She also trekked in Nepal with Sean and Neil.
A lifetime socialist, born in Scotland but living most of her life on Merseyside, she campaigned enthusiastically for Scottish independence in Fort William 2014. She was a firm supporter of workers' rights and of the Palestinians.
She travelled far and wide making many friends abroad including to Egypt where she supported a special needs project in Luxor.
Patricia bequeathed her body to Glasgow University for medical research.
Patricia made a difference - to so many.
