Like Les Gallop, I also met Cliff when I was a social work assistant in the late 1970's.
He was a kind, thoughtful and generous man, with a great sense of humour.
Working with him was also a joy. Cliff was a man of integrity and was liked and respected by all who knew him, and it was a privilege to have known him.

I met Cliff when I became a social work assistant in Leicestershire in the mid 1970s. Cliff was such a charming, modest and helpful colleague. He was a very skilful decorator and so spent a lot of time helping my wife and me decorate our first house. We saw him about ten years ago in Devon and he was the same delightful, wise and funny person that I had worked with. A special person to us and I guess to many others.
