Adrian PaulBIRKSIt is with great sadness the family announces that Adrian died suddenly on 29th October, leaving behind a devastated Wife Jenny, Brother Graham and Sister In Law Marion. Adrian was a loving Father to Sally and Catherine, adored Grandad of Niamh, Alexa, Oliver and Iris, proud Great Grandad of Jamie Wren and fond Uncle of Paul. A service will be held to celebrate Adrian's life at Grimsby Crematorium on Wednesday 30th November at 12 noon. At the family's request family flowers only please, but if you wish donations may be made payable to the Salvation Army, Grimsby and will be gratefully received in lieu or on the day of the service. The care that Adrian received in A&E at DPoW was outstanding and the rapid response team, the paramedics, the two Doctors and the fireman of White Watch who all attended to assist on the 29th have the families eternal gratitude. All enquiries to Kettle Funeralcare, 135 Granville Street, Grimsby, Tel: 01472 355395.

Adrian was the "Bill Shankley' of Chemistry - nothing was more important! He was a brilliant educator and I enjoyed every minute being in his Team. His magic finger brought any class to order. His lower school schemes of work were brilliant and helped every student to develop the lessons.I am eternally grateful for spending many years under his guidance.

I have such strong memories of Mr Birks, even 40 years after leaving school. He was a truly inspiring teacher, had a wicked sense of humour and was a kind and lovely man. My sincere condolences to all his family and friends.

The best teacher I ever had, never a dull moment in one of his classes. Met him a few times over the years and glad I got the chance to let him know what a massive influence he had on me and my career choice.
RIP Mr Birks

If you didn’t like chemistry but had Mr Birks as a teacher, you would soon come to like the subject. Funny, easy to talk to and respectful, Mr Birks was one of a kind. RIP Sir x

You are fondly remembered as one of my favourites!. Over 36 years ago you made your first impression on a young lad whom had upmost respect for the man not just the teacher. Wish our paths had crossed in more recent times but I savour the memories & think myself lucky to have been taught by you , not just science lessons , life lessons.

Rest in Peace Mr Birks
Thank Full Pupil
