RichardBIRTWISTLEMr Richard Worsley Birtwistle, of Holme Manor Care Home, Townsendfold, died on Wednesday, February 24, aged 77. He was a logistics manager for J B Broadley’s, Rawtenstall. Richard enjoyed fell-walking coast to coast, Dales Way and Wainwright Fells, and holidays. He was a season ticket holder at Manchester United, and enjoyed socialising, snooker, cricket. and sports. He was a member of the Royal British Legion, Rawtenstall Cricket Club, and attended several FA Cup Finals. Father of the late Christopher, he leaves sons Robert and Andrew, grandsons Liam, Alex, Ethan and Alfie, brother Dave, and sister Helen. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 10, at 11.30am at Burnley Crematorium, led by Kathy Unsworth. Due to current restrictions, numbers are limited at the crematorium. Family flowers only please; donations if desired to Rossendale Hospice. Donations can be made online by visiting www.fredhamer.co.uk (tributes and donations).
