Dorothy JeanBISHOPThe family of the late Dorothy would like to thank family, friends, past neighbours and ex-colleagues of our late father, Peter, both locally and around the country, for all the kind words of sympathy received through cards, letters and telephone calls. Special thanks go to Reverend Carollyn McDonald for her prayers and support with the wonderful funeral service at Markeaton Crematorium. The opportunity to have a live link around the country, as well as to Australia, helped to make the day special for those unable to attend in person. Thank you to Frank Rigby and staff of Wathall's, Ashbourne for assisting Gillian with the funeral arrangements, and to Nadia (florist) for the beautiful flowers: Mum would have loved them. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of The Surgery, Clifton Road, for all the care given to both Mum and Dad over the years. Thank you so much for the generous donations totalling over £500 made to Ashbourne Community Transport. We really appreciated being able to use the service to take Mum out for lunch, and the kindness and care given to her during these journeys. Particular thanks must go to Jeannette Turpin for her friendship with my parents from their arrival in Ashbourne onwards. Mervyn and Gillian have really valued her kind support. Finally, the family owes a huge debt of gratitude to Jim Watt and all the staff, both past and present, of Ashbourne Lodge Care Home for their ongoing care of Mum since September 2017. We knew she was in a safe and supportive environment, being able to maintain her independence for as long as possible. We acknowledge the immense strain the past year imposed, but always felt able to telephone to either talk to Mum, or be kept informed. Mervyn and Gillian valued being permitted to make room visits to her over the last few months.
