Kathleen & CorneliusBLACKKathleen & Cornelius BLACK It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen Sarah Black, formerly Kerrigan, and Cornelius Divers Black, both of Aspen Lane, Oswaldtwistle, announce their passing. Kathleen, aged 74, passed away on Saturday, December 11. Cornelius, aged 78, passed away Sunday, December 26. Much loved parents of Jane, Daniel and Neil, and treasured nana and papa of Cameron, Jemma, Sophie, William, Libby and Tom. The funeral will take place at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, January 21 from 2.20pm onwards. Kath and Con were born and raised in Greenock Renfrewshire, before making their home in Church, Accrington and later Oswaldtwistle. Kath worked at Hilden Manufacturing Oswaldtwistle for over a decade, before joining Stockleys Sweets and thereafter Vernon Steel. Con, a committed trade unionist, began his career for Scotts Shipyard in Greenock, before moving to Lancashire. Amongst others, he gave service to Emerson & Renwick Ltd, Harris Economy, West End Tufting, and Sumner and Brown, before taking early retirement. Both characters larger than life, they will be greatly missed by all who knew them; their hearts knit together in death as they were in life.
