To my oldest and best friend:
Andy my friend and best man at my wedding 51 years ago this month, you will be missed more than you could ever imagine. We grew up and "came of age together" We were kings in our own time, late 60's and into the 70's was a fantastic era to be part of. Payday on a Thursday - spent by Sunday... Everywhere on our scooters. Then cars, I remember a weekend in Blackpool in your Dad's old Ford Pop - we slept in it Saturday night! The drive down to Torquay to meet up with the rest of your family - 8 hour drive in those days! The Rod Stewart concert in Birmingham (1971) then driving down to London straight after, just because we felt like it...
I had my first experience of listening to music through headphones - you had just bought the album Led Zeppelin II (1969) and got me to listen to the track "Whole lotta love". I instantly went out and bought a copy myself and I still have it.
There are so many stories I will remember, thank you for all of them. I write this with tears in my eyes but with happiness in my soul (because we shared so much happiness) and sadness in my heart.
To my oldest and best friend
I think that song sums you up - A whole lotta love.
Goodbye my friend RIP (I hope you're laughing and dancing up there) Everyone needs an Andy Black.
Malcolm
