It was with great sadness I heard that Clifford had passed away. I remember him conducting Carharrack & St Day band when I was in my early teens playing cornet. Clifford was a very patient brass music teacher and the time he put in and miles he use to drive around teaching us youngsters at band practice and privately indicated his true enthusiasm and dedication to brass bands. Clifford laid a good foundation for many young players who went on to be professional and top class musicians. With my deepest sympathy to the family, Robert Cook
