Stephen MichaelBONNERAged 60, at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough where he worked, on October 28th 2022, after a year long struggle with cancer. Profoundly missed by Anne, Xavier and Raffy, his family and his many, many friends and colleagues. Funeral service at St Cuthberts RC Church, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3HL, on the 23rd Nov 2022 at 11:45am. It was an enormous privilege and pleasure to have the opportunity to spend some time with Stephen. I am so, so sorry that he has been taken too soon from his loved ones. My heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with his wife and sons – Mary x

Very sad to learn of Steve’s passing . Only just became aware through a mutual friend. So here I get to pay my respects to Steve by being even later than he famously used to be. I like to think he’d appreciate the gesture. A great loss to medicine, particularly locally . But far, far more to Spider, Xavier & Raffy. Now regret didn’t keep in touch more.

I had the pleasure and privilege of knowing Steve as an undergraduate at Newcastle university. This news has deeply saddened me. My thoughts are with his family.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Stephen,but feel as though I know him, Anne, Xavier & Raffy through the stories his Mother Barbara has told me. She was so incredibly proud of him and the boys. Thinking of you all x x x
