A poem from your daughters mum
By A.Bonnett

We miss you so much already mum
Words cannot even explain
The extent and depth of our heartache
And the weight of the physical pain

You gave us so much to remember you mum
Your life, your loves, joy and fun
We couldn’t be prouder of you
You have everything to us, and the sun

We watched you grow old in body mum
But not in ambitions, loves or cares
We failed to prepare our own mindset
For the time when you’d head off upstairs

You fought your new illness so bravely mum
We knew not your true struggles and despair
We rallied around to support you
But too late, nothing left but to care

We will live our lives in your memory mum
Make the most of whatever it brings
We know you’ll be waiting to greet us
With a smile and a hug from your wings
