DorisBOOTHof Lime Road, Accrington died peacefully at home aged 93, on February 20. Devoted wife of the late Walter Booth, a retired teacher at St Christopher’s C of E School, dearly loved mother of Mary and the late Andrew, mother-inlaw to Geoff and Caroline, adored grandma of Jenny, Lucy, and partners Matthew and Daniel, and much loved great-grandma to Daisy and Oliver. Doris taught at All Saints Primary School in Clayton-le-Moors for over 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed holidaying with friends, playing golf, knitting, baking and volunteered in Oxfam. Doris was full of character and held a wonderful conversation, she always had a smile on her face and a colourful jumper to match. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. A service will take place to celebrate her life on Thursday, March 9 at 12.20pm at Accrington Crematorium. Doris loved bright colours and so the family would welcome anyone attending to follow suit if they desire. Wake details yet to be confirmed - please contact Hyndburn Funeral Services for further information. Family flowers only.
