EvelynBOROSOn Friday, August 13, peacefully in hospital, Margaret Evelyn Boros, aged 93, of Oswaldtwistle. She was a lifelong resident of Hyndburn. The beloved wife of the late Alex, a much loved mother to Stephen, Peter and Janet, devoted nanna, great-grandma, and great-nanna. Evelyn was born in Pickup Street, Oswaldtwistle. She attended St Mary’s RC School, Oswaldtwistle and was a member of St Mary’s R.C. Church, Oswaldtwistle, and a former member of St Mary’s Ladies Choir. Evelyn worked at Clifton Mill, Joseph Arnold’s and was the owner of Paddock Stores. With the help of their son Stephen, Evelyn and her late husband Alex ran Paddock Nurseries, Oswaldtwistle. In Evelyn’s spare time she loved attending St Anne’s R.C. Friendship Group meetings and enjoyed their outings together. She also attended the Luncheon Club, Oswaldtwistle. She enjoyed swimming with the Waves Swimming Group, Blackburn and was a member of the Arthritis group. Evelyn’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the staff of East Lancs Hospital Trust and to staff of White Ash Brook Care Home, Oswaldtwistle, for their combined medical care and attention. Requiem Mass will be held at St Mary’s RC Church, Oswaldtwistle, on Friday, August 27 at 10.15am prior to an 11.40am cremation at Accrington Crematorium.
