Stephen ThomasBOWDENBowdie Suddenly, on 7th April, Steve Bowden, aged 65, retired headteacher of Porth County Community School, recently chair of Techniquest; beloved husband of Allison; adored father of Beckie and Sam; devoted Bampi of Ben, Owen, Bella and Ellie; dearly loved son of the late Mervyn and the late Janette; loving brother of Bev; cherished son-in-law of Margaret and the late Ted; esteemed father-in-law of Andy and Dom; much loved brother-in-law of Derek, Anne, Lewis, Sara and John; dearly loved uncle of Jake, Shona, Bethan, Lewis, Rhian, Dylan and Dulcie; loved, valued and respected friend and colleague to many. Resting at A J Stone and William Ham, 1a & 3 Neville Street, Canton, Cardiff. Private funeral in accordance with current restrictions on 6th May 2021 at 3pm at the Barry Crematorium. The cortege will leave from Lakin Drive, Barry at 2:45pm and travel along Port Road East to the Barry Crematorium. Steve had requested that the funeral party wear bright colours or Welsh rugby colours and those kindly wishing to pay their respects along the route leading up to the entrance to the Barry Crematorium are warmly invited to do the same. Steve was taken ill and died at Trealaw Cemetery, where he had been attending the funeral of a dear former colleague. Steve's family would like to express their heartful condolences to the mourners and their deep gratitude for the respect, dignity and sensitivity shown to Steve. We will be forever grateful to those who attended Steve at the end of his life.

I remember Mr Bowden as Headteacher at Porth County school. He was a lovely man, very pleasant and intelligent. Just 65, no age for him to pass away. Love to his family and friends.
