David ShearerBOYLE(Retired Major) RA First and foremost our sincere thanks must truly be given to the phenomenal turnout of 'Mourners' that joined us on the day of Davie's "Farewell". Believe me when I say, we were totally overwhelmed to see the vast amount of Friends and Neighbours there, a lot of you going back some 35 years, plus!! Travelling hundreds of miles to be there to pay your respects to Davie. Amazingly, you all made it such an unforgettable and memorable day for the Family, and we are so grateful to everyone. I must share, my heart was sorely breaking watching Davie coming home one last time, prior to going to the crematorium. However, my spirits were lifted at seeing all the support that had been waiting on our arrival, it most certainly helped in easing the most difficult and painful day ever. The beautiful cards and flowers of sympathy and condolences, expressed with kind words and thoughts within were very much appreciated. Davie would have been absolutely chuffed, knowing every one of you gave him a fantastic send off ever. Huge thanks to the following, Dr Dhadda and his Specialist Cancer Nurses at the day centre, Castle Hill Hospital, Community District Nurses, Doctors and Staff at Kirton Surgery and finally Lyndsay Mander, Macmillan Nurse who went above and beyond to give Davie all the support he needed, many thanks Lesley!! Hope that brings a smile Lyndsay. X From the Co-op Funeralcare Bottesford, Paul and Jacqui and all the Team, thank you for all your excellent caring support and guidance throughout. Angela Tuplin, on delivering such a lovely Eulogy and Service. Karen, our Daughter, he would have been so proud by your Tribute to him, his response would be "The Girl Done Good" xx. The excellent music, "Flowers of the Forest" and "Highland Cathedral" was played by Piper Tony Kelly. Last Post played by Bugler, Caroline Ridgeway. Both, amazingly talented musicians. Thanks to Caroline for the beautiful flower arrangements from Flower Theatre, Messingham. To Chris and Staff at Holme Hall Golf Club in presenting a lovely Buffet and Refreshments afterwards, thanks also. A huge thank you for the support of the local Royal British Legion, Chairman and Members for all the input received, also the Standard Bearers, a fitting tribute to Davie. A personal thank you to every Lad stood side by side to acknowledge Davie's arrival, respect shown, such a poignant moment. "Ubique" will be remembered always by the Family and myself forever! Finally, to one special Cousin, Billy, who organised the majority of arrangements, Davie would have been so grateful and proud of all your contributions, and to big Scouse, thanks, his Medals were hard work, but like the day itself, you had them shining as bright as the sun! Job Well Done! To Ollie, Bert, Billy, Graham, Mal and Steven, amongst you, he served a long Army Career, forged good friendships along the way, so fitting that you's were part of his final journey. So thank you "Everyone" for an absolutely 1st Class "Farewell". Donations to The Royal British Legion raised £900. Many thanks to all for your outstanding generosity. And to Davie, sleep well Sweetheart, much love Always, Mary xx Co-op Funeralcare
