JeanBRIGGSJean, aged 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2 at Magdalene House, Blackburn, following a short illness. Beloved wife of the late Jack, much loved mum of Stephen and Susan, mother-in-law of Kathryn and Peter, cherished grandma to Kimberley, Austin, Eleanor and Katie, and much loved great-grandma and great, great-grandma. Jean was born in Accrington and lived all her married life in Clayton-le-Moors with her late husband Jack. She spent her working life at GEC in Clayton and supported Jack in his coal delivery business, through which they were well known throughout Hyndburn. They enjoyed ballroom dancing at the Old Band Club, Accrington and she loved her bingo sessions throughout the area where she had many friends. Later in life she enjoyed her Wednesday afternoon club at the Arthur Wilson Centre and chatting with her good neighbours and putting the world to rights. A private family funeral service will be held. Family flowers only please; donations are being gratefully received in memory of Jean on behalf of North West Air Ambulance or East Lancs Hospice at www. champfunerals.com/ obituaries Funeral director: Champ Funeral Services, Bank House, Whalley Road, Clayton-le-Moors.
