HaroldBRIGGSIn grateful and loving memory of HAROLD BRIGGS born in Long Eaton and late of Sawley, born 100 years ago today May 1st 1921 and who passed away on October 6th 2011 aged 90. Also his devoted wife of 68 years IRENE (nee Stenson) born in Long Eaton on October 30th 1924 and who passed away 20th April 2012 aged 87. Parents to John and David, Grandparents to Michelle and Matthew, Great-Grandparents to Luke, Leah and Keira, Parents-in-law to Lindsey, Grandparents-in-law to Emma. Always remembered and together forever.

I was only six years old when my cousin Harold and Irene were married but I do remember the wedding very well. after the church service the reception was held at the Co-Op hall on Station road Long Eaton.

My parents lived long and healthy lives for which we are all sincerely grateful, they are remembered with love and respect by the whole family.
Anyone visiting this tribute might be interested in a little background about the photographs, particularly the ones outside the Church. One was taken on their Wedding Day on June 26th 1943 at St. Lawrence Church in Long Eaton. The colour photo was taken in the same place and at the same time of day on the occasion of their 50th Anniversary in 1993.
The portrait of them both was taken shortly after they were married.
