JohnBRIGGSMr John Briggs, of Musden Avenue, Helmshore sadly passed away at Danesmoor Residential Home on Sunday, August 7, aged 84. A retired HGV driver, John loved flowers and was a very keen gardener and at his happiest when sitting out enjoying his own garden. He also enjoyed train spotting and taking many photos of them over the years. John loved taking many a train trip around the UK, but one of his favourites being that of taking a trip on the train to Scotland, and especially when he journeyed to Scotland on the famous ‘Flying Scotsman’. Dad to the late Raymond and brother to the late Brian, John leaves his wife of 61 years Amelia, son John, grandson Carl, great-grandson Harry, sisters Jean and Maureen, nephew Peter, and niece Katie. His funeral will take place next Wednesday, August 17, when Mr Damien Philips will conduct a Celebration of Life service and committal at Accrington Crematorium at 1.40pm. Family flowers only please, however donations if desired in lieu of flowers will be gratefully received in memory of John for Rossendale Hospice via the funeral director Sharon Aspinall for Agápe funeral service, Waterfoot.
