Francis EdwardBRINDLEMr Francis Edward Brindle, of Plantation Road, Accrington, died at home on Monday, July 13, aged 99. Francis was a Second World War army veteran, worked at Hyndburn Council as a transport manager/driver, Taskers, Albert Harrisons as a driver, and at Hapton Colliery aged 14-18 then again after the war. He was a valued member of Armed Forces breakfast clubs in Colne and Haslingden, a lifelong member of the British Legion, former chairman of East Lancs El Alamein Reunion Association, former president and committee member of Dyers and Finishers Working Men’s Club, and a Burnley supporter. He was a proud and gracious man who loved his family. He was father of three children Catherine, Susan and Derek, and four grandchildren Andrew, Miriam, Eve and Thomas. A service was held at 11am on Monday, July 27, at Accrington Crematorium, led by Sarah Flanagan, Civil Celebrant. Donations if desired to Colne Veterans Breakfast Club or RAFV Breakfast Club.
