JeanBRODERICKON Friday, January 3, peacefully in hospital, Jean aged 86, of Church. The dearly-loved wife of the late Chris, much loved mum of Chris and Nick, loving mother-in-law of Linda, devoted gran of Kira, Della, Anthony, Kiel, Lisha and the late Carl, great-gran of Josh, Alyse, Toby, Ayrton and Jacob, dear sister of Doug, Kath and the late Frank and also a dear sister-in-law and auntie. The service to give thanks for Jean's life, followed by cremation, was held at Accrington Crematorium on Monday, January 13. Jean spent the first ten years of her working life as a secretary at Bracewell Transport. She had always adored films and the movies and so was delighted to then become an Usherette at the Palladium in Oswaldtwistle where she remained until she had her family, and became a full-time housewife and mum. Jean was a real home-bird and was a loving, caring and patient mum. Returning to work, Jean became head of security at Empire Bingo where she spent a very happy 20 years. She had also been an avid reader and her knowledge was vast. She particularly liked history and had a fascination with all things to do with the Titanic. She loved Countdown, her cigarettes and Guinness. Donations in Jean's memory may be made to PDSA c/o funeral director Champ Funeral Services.
