CharlesBROOKS(Quaking Houses) (formerly of Scotswood and Felling.) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chas on the 19th March peacefully in University Hospital North Durham following a short illness. Chas aged 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Audrey, much loved dad of Malcolm, Derrick and Ian, father in law of Janice, Narin and Leslie, loving granda of Kieran, Jason, Charlotte, Lara and Laura. Chas had a keen love of life and nature, a seafarer, chef, walker, gardener and dancer, he was very active in the local community, running dances with his late wife Audrey and a leading member of the local Environmental Trust and walking group. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Friends please meet for service and interment at Chapel View Greenfield Burial Services, Rowley on Friday 22nd April at 2pm. A bus will leave from the Store Corner in Quaking Houses at 1:15pm and from the Civic Hall in Stanley at 1:25pm. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to Diabetes UK and British Heart Foundation. After service, the wake will be held in Quaking Houses Village Hall. All enquires to Co-op Funeracare, Stanley. 01207232154.
