AlbertBROWNMr Albert Thomas Brown, of Spencer Street, Accrington, died on Monday, January 25, aged 87. Albert was born in Accrington and he served in the Army, stationed in Egypt. He completed his apprenticeship as a butcher during his service. He then moved to Burnley with his wife Betty and successfully opened his own butchers shop until his retirement, then moved back to Accrington. He had a fondness for painting pictures and could be seen regularly doing sudoku and puzzles. He also liked to read his daily newspaper from cover to cover and keep up with current affairs. His other passion was the upkeep and care of his motorbikes. He also enjoyed the countryside and going for walks and he regularly took up a DIY project. Albert passed away peacefully in hospital after a short illness. He leaves his much loved family, wife Betty, son Paul and daughter-in-law Tina, son David and partner Jackie, granddaughters Sarah, Katy, Rachel and Emma, and was a proud great-grandad to seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Friday, February 5 at Accrington Crematorium, led by Neil Overton. Family flowers only please, with donations if desired to Lancashire Hospital Trust Charity c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services.
