Dear Nanny Red,
There aren't enough words to describe how much I love you, and how much I miss you.
You were the strongest, and kindest soul I've had the pleasure to know. I am beyond proud to be lucky enough to be your granddaughter.
I will forever cherish all my memories of you. You made my childhood special. Playing marry me 100 times (as you said our Emma can't get married she'd be a bigamist), teaching me how to bake and cook, encouraging me to read, and sparking my interest in history.
In my adult life, you've been a constant support. I enjoyed getting to know you more as your own person, and your life.
You were self-taught, loved history (especially family history and queen Victoria), you loved horror films and ghost stories, you were an avid reader and you had an amazing sense of humour.
I loved hearing stories of the dances that you went to, family history in Ireland, what it was like growing up on Parley, the get togethers you had with your siblings, and meeting grandad when you weren't expecting it.
You lived your life to the fullest; you were a rock to all your loved ones through the good and bad. Thank you for all your love and devotion as a Mother and Nan. It is down to you that we have our amazing family.
I will always miss you, but I take comfort in knowing you are reunited with all the loved ones you lost, and that you are no longer in pain.
Rest well Nanny Red, and give all my love to Grandad.
Lots of love, Emmaboo xxx
