Joan opened her heart and home to my wife and I on many visits from Canada, where she lived for a short time many years ago. Evacuated from London during the war, she made a home in Cornwall. She was a kind, dear soul who truly enjoyed every hug. We will both miss "mum" terribly. Having tea will never be the same. Goodbye Mum, and thank you for everything you did. The world is a poorer place without you.
