'Mr Bullows' taught me Latin from 1968 to 1972 and was such an inspiration that I did O level Greek with him in my free 6th form periods! I still have my Latin grammar book, Brevitas, and a letter from him that he sent me in 1972 when, with his inspiration, I went to university to study Classics.

My first acquaintance with Robin was in 1958, when he led the Cambridge time trial team which trounced us soundly in that first-ever O/C “25”! 40 years later he and Margaret became regular welcome supporters at our nostalgic reunions. It was a privilege to have known such a kind and generous-spirited man.
