Ian JohnBURNPassed away on 4 June 2024, aged 64. Ian was beloved husband to Gail, much loved Dad to Samantha and Andrew, Grandad to Ada and Isaac, son to Margaret and Jack, and brother to Kevin. Ian lived and worked all over the world, returning home to the North East in retirement. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues. His family would like to thank the kind and dedicated staff in the Freeman Hospital, and especially the Northern Centre for Cancer Care, who cared for him in recent months. The funeral service will take place at West Road Crematorium on Tuesday 18 June at 2:45pm. No flowers please, but donations are welcome to the wonderful Maggie's Centre, Newcastle.

The last time I spent time with Ian, we were together at a campsite, watching pods of whales swim by. The natural beauty was breathtaking. I remember watching his face light up at the wonder of it all. I am grateful for the times we had, sat around a table, with humorous commentary quietly spoken to those who were lucky enough to hear it! I am grateful for the time I got with you!

Ian is gone but will never be forgotten …….. his friendly smile and the cheerful chats…
Our thoughts are with Gail and all the family hoping they find strength in one another to cope with this great loss.
