Mary KateCAIN, of Fernhill Crescent, Stacksteads, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 22 at Salford Royal Hospital, aged 78 years. Requiem mass will be held at St James The Less RC Church, Rawtenstall on Friday, March 31 at 11am, followed by interment in Bacup Cemetery at 12.15pm conducted by Father Simon Stamp and Father David Lupton. Mary was born in Bacup where she lived all her life. She worked at J & J McLeries and E Sutton and Co Ltd working as a shoe operative the whole of her working life. She enjoyed listening to Irish music but was happiest when surrounded by her extended loving family. She leaves her husband of 58 years, Alan, daughters Darleen and her husband Simon, Tania and her husband Stephen and Cherie, grandchildren Benjamin, Rebekah and Bridie, great-grandson Harley, sisters Teresa, Betty, Patricia, Jaqueline and Josephine and brother Harry, nieces, nephews and many friends.
