PeterCAINEPeter, a loving and devoted father and grandfather, sadly died in August after suffering a fall and then catching covid. He was a wonderful, positive and yet gentle person with a great sense of humour and a highly developed intellect. He worked as a mathematician at the University of Salford for over forty years where he was a fantastic teacher. He was also a wonderful, thoughtful and caring father and grandfather and will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him. His memorial service will be held at St Martin's Church, Church Lane, Ashton upon Mersey, Sale. M33 5QQ at 11am on Friday 28th October.

So sorry to hear of Peter’s death. I worked closely with him at the university for a number of years. He was always patient with students, helping them to understand concepts with which they were struggling. At the end of most terms we would go to the pub: I would be crying with laughter at Peter’s stories.
