IreneCALEARYIt is with great sadness we announce that Irene Caleary passed away peacefully at Wallside Nursing Home, Falkirk, after bravely living with Parkinson's Disease and Dementia.
Born in Shotts, North Lanarkshire, Irene was the youngest of 11 children of Ellen (Nelly) and William (Pop) Berry. She is reunited now with her late siblings Mary, Bill, Margaret, Sissy, Helen, Tommy, Rosemary, Eddie, and Maureen, and survived by her brother Pat.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wullie (2001) and lovingly remembered by her children Tony, Steven, and Gill, her daughters-in-law Fiona and Vanya, and her grandchildren Niamh and Oscar.
Irene had a wicked sense of humour, an unshakable belief in standing up for what was right, and a feisty spirit that left a mark on everyone who knew her.
A short service to celebrate her life will be held at Falkirk Crematorium at 13:45 on Wednesday, 30th October 2024, followed by a gathering at Falkirk Golf Club. All are welcome to join us. Formal black attire not essential. Irene always said flowers at funerals were a "waste of money," so in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Strathcarron Hospice.
She will be dearly missed but we know she's being welcomed with open arms and a dram in the big Marble Club in the sky. Rest in peace, Irene
