HazelCALLISTERMRS Hazel Callister, of the Laurels, Bacup formerly of West View, and Helmcroft Court, Haslingden died on Sunday, February 23, at Royal Blackburn, aged 85. She leaves her family of four daughters Kay, Lauren, Sherryl and Tracy and son Gary, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many close friends. Hazel was originally from Doncaster, moving to Rossendale over 50 years ago working as a machinist, and in the cotton industry as a weaver. A voluntary worker for Rossendale Hospice and also with the Red Cross, travelling to The Gambia with aid. In her spare time she enjoyed a game of darts and dominoes and played for the Little Crown and The Clarence. The funeral took place on Friday, March 13, with service at St James Parish Church, Haslingden at 1pm, followed by interment at Haslingden Cemetery, officiated by Fr David Stephenson.
