Sad to hear that Sr Elizabeth has died. She had great poise and there was, too, a certain stylishness about her. A pious woman and a first-class educator of girls. She did not really retire, going on to train in ESOL after leaving her headship and she did lots of other things too. She gave me a job at Greenwich and I remember her as both demanding yet appreciative
of her staff. I recall when, in the mornings before class she would make her way round the staff room-always with a piece of paper in her hand, the contents of which might be used to praise or reprove. A great lady, who is remembered warmly and yet with sadness for the end of a life lived so well. Sincere sympathy to the Sisters she leaves behind.
