DavidCARDWELLPeacefully on Tuesday 13th May 2025 at home with his family by his side.

Walter, loving Husband of Christine, adored father of Lara, Frederica and the late Japhy, cherished grandfather of James and Ivy. Walter will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at The Brunswick Arms, 3 Duke Street, Swansea, SA1 4HS, on Saturday 7th June at 12 noon.

Donations in memory of Walter may be made directly to either, Prostate Cancer UK, Fourth Floor, The Counting House, 53 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2QN. Maggie's, Singleton Hospital, Sketty Lane, Sketty, Swansea, SA2 8QL.

David (Walter) was a friend and mentor to me in so many things property for twenty years. He coached as well as project managed, advised me on building condition on innumerable viewings. His skill and technical insight was unerring. He was a key member of my property ‘power team’, with also comprehensive professional connections. He was a people person. Also a very private person. Before he did the first project with me, a significant project when I was new to property investing, he interrogated me for an hour to ‘decide’ whether he wanted to work with me. I apparently passed the test. Shortly before he died he told me that I am “a good person to speak with in the waiting room”. On the last occasion I telephoned he didn’t want to talk and I knew that the end was near...

Christine, I just learned of David's passing. I am overcome with deep sadness. I don't have your address to send you my condolences and thoughts from France. A thousand and one memories of time spent with David and you come to me. I send you my love and thoughts.
