John MichaelCARLINE28.8.59 - 22.3.19 Passed away peacefully on 22nd March 2019 at Scunthorpe General Hospital, aged 59 years Loving partner of Louise and Husband to Jane. Step-dad to Chloe and loving brother to Jackie. A funeral service for John will be held at Woodlands Crematorium on Tuesday 9th April at 1:20pm. John was a radio amateur, call sign G4JJy, he and I spent many happy hours together on our short wave transceiver during the steel strike at the Scunthorpe Amateur Radio club at the Hobbies centre.
We also participated in numerous "Field days" a competition between radio groups up and down the country........the thing that kept us going over the full 24 hours was the enjoyment of the "odd can" of Guinness quaffed when we could grab a minute or two from operating the station.....!! Days that live long in the memory....
