John DouglasCARLINGPassed away peacefully on Thursday 24th September 2026 aged 88 years.

Beloved husband of Judith, much loved dad of Jonathan and Jane, loving grandad of Sarah, Rebecca, Adam and Christopher, great grandad of Rosie, Eliza and Joseph.

Funeral service to be held at St Mary's Church, Beverley on Friday 9th October at 2pm.

Family flowers only please. Donations much appreciated for Macmillan Cancer Support & Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

John was a friend and neighbour for 28years. John and his wife Judith loved music and spent many happy hours listening and taking part in concerts and recitals. It is sad to think that this year we will not have a Christmas evening together enjoying conversation and laughter with wine and gin and tonics. However, we will raise a glass to our friend John D Carling.
We are so sorry Judith and family for your sad loss.

Memories of Mr Carling teaching us History at Withernsea High School in 1968. More recently meeting him again at a village show and enjoying a hilarious ‘what teachers do to relax’ conversation with him and his wife. My love and sympathy to his family.
