Bernard ErnstCARROLLAged 75 years.

We are very sad to share that Bernie Carroll, much loved husband of Steph, uncle to Michelle, great-uncle to Jake and treasured friend to many across the world, peacefully passed away at home on 16th June 2025 after a long illness.

Creative, sharp-witted and always rebellious; Bernie brought laughter and good times to everyone lucky enough to know him. He has left a timeless footprint on this world and a huge gap in our lives. We will miss him more than words can say, but grateful for the wonderful memories he gave us.

Service and cremation to be held at Springwood Crematorium on Wednesday 2nd July, at 3pm.

Family flowers only.

Dear Bernie, good and faithful friend since the early 70s, more than 50 years. So many memories, advice, to each other, including choosing the right partner...he did... 😁 Advice and great laughs. Peace at last to you. Much love. Lynne ❤️

Such fond memories of Bernie, we had know each other from my time in Liverpool just after school (1960's) . He was such a great character and always had such a sharp wit with an endless supply of stories from all over the world, like buying a train ticket at Liverpool Lime St to Beijing China. I will just treasure the memories of a couple of beers in that pub near Kathern Street. Travel safe dear old friend. Fondest wishes from Peter Brenikov

Ah Bernie! You have given me such wonderful memories over so many years. I’ll miss you very much. This photo was the last time I met up with you and my lovely best friend Stephie. I was with my Ukrainian guest Svitlana - you put on your yellow sock and your blue sock in her honour, and apologised for speaking Russian instead of Ukrainian (no offence was taken: “a language is just a language and can be used equally for good or ill”). The four of us went to Crosby Beach to see the Gormley statues - and to search for fish and chips (in vain - it was a Sunday!). Just the latest of my memories of you, dear friend. Rest in peace.

I’ve known Bernie since I was 16 which is 50 years now and he was a great influence on how you could live a life in an alternative universe. Sharp witted and outspoken with a laugh and a smile that could win anyone over. The Picasso sisters needs a new bass player long live the tall man with the painted green double bass.
